Lesson 1: Self-Awareness & Understanding Emotions
This lesson is designed to introduce the first foundational building blocks of self-awareness, which are understanding and naming emotions.
Lesson 2: Critical Self Reflection- Strengths & Limitations
This lesson is designed to help students purposefully reflect back on their younger selves as well as intentionally
evaluate their current selves so as to accurately identify their strengths and limitations.
Lesson 3: Stress Awareness & Management
This lesson is designed to help build student awareness about stress and stressors, and to develop capacity for appropriate, healthy responses.
Lesson 4: Managing Impulsivity
This lesson is designed to help students learn about impulsivity, to reflect on their ability to manage impulsivity, and
to cultivate a richer understanding of patience while developing tools to practice patience.
Lesson 5: Understanding Self-Motivation Influences Goal-Setting & Self- Management
This lesson is designed to help students gain insight into their self-motivation tendencies and how these might influence their ability to set and work toward goals.
Project: Self-Awareness and Self-Regulation Skills for the Job Market
This project is designed to help students utilize self-awareness and self-regulation tools and strategies (from earlier in the unit) to culminate in readiness for possible hiring and participation in the job market. Students will specifically be asked to design a personal resume, create a “First Impression” Video Introduction, and prepare for a potential in-person job interview.
